The First Research and Practical Conference on the Initial Stages of Seed Production was held by the Ukrainian Seed Partnership Association in the area of Kherson.

On the 20^th of June 2012 the First Research and Practical Conference on the Initial Stages of Seed Production “Effectiveness at the initial stages of seed production is a basis for the competitive seed industry” .

It was held by the Ukrainian Seed Partnership Association and the enterprise “Askaniyske”(Kahovka region, area of Kherson), leading company that produces elite seed and reproduction of seed of the cereal, oil and technical crops. More that 100 representatives of the Ukrainian seed producing companies and scientific agricultural institutions, also foreign guests from Belorussia, Lithuania and Turkey took part in the Conference. The Conference Program comprised the questions of seed multiplication at the initial stages, scientific procuring of seed industry of the Ukrainian regions, other actual problems related to the peculiarities of initial seed production management and use of modern scientific innovations. Practical learning of the elements of management technologies at the initial stages of seed production under current conditions was provided by the group of selectionists under the direction of Lazar Petro Narcisovich ,doctor of agricultural sciences, professor.
